Everything is bad and life is terrible. It’s finals week, and I have no clue what’s going on in my classes. Boy, I sure do hope things are going better for the Penguins!

On Monday, Dec. 4, the Penguins went to Philly for a shot at redemption against the Flyers. After a slow start, Captain Sidney Crosby was able to open scoring for Pittsburgh with just a minute to go in the first. Halfway through the second, the Flyers got one past Alex Nedeljkovic and tied the game. The score remained tied throughout the third. In overtime, Philly scored one more to take the game, and Pittsburgh fell again, 2-1.

On Wednesday, Dec. 6, the Penguins returned to Florida to play the Lightning again. Tampa came out strong with a goal six minutes into the first, and then two more in the second, putting the score at 3-0 Lightning. Despite a Jake Guentzel goal to put Pittsburgh on the board with less than a minute left in the game, it was simply too little too late, and the Penguins lost 3-1.

On Friday, Dec. 8, the Penguins finished out their Florida trip in Miami to go up against the Panthers. After a scoreless first, Reilly Smith opened scoring for Pittsburgh in the second. The goal was shortly answered by Florida, and the Penguins went into the third tied 1-1. Unfortunately, the Penguins were not doing well in the harsh Florida climate, and the Panthers (well acclimated to the extreme 80 degree heat) scored two more unanswered goals in the third. The Penguins fell yet again, 3-1, extending their losing streak to four.

Glad to know no one is having a good time right now.

On Tuesday, the Penguins return to home ice to face off against the Coyotes. Then, they’re off to Canada to play the Canadiens on Wednesday, and the Maple Leafs on Saturday. Let’s go Pens!
