The UConn women’s team, in a last-second play against Iowa, was robbed by the refs over a bad call on some physical play, something that the refs seemed to have very little issue with over the rest of the game.

By taking the ball out of UConn’s hands at the very end of a nailbiter, they robbed the Huskies of a shot at the national championship game, and put Caitlin Clark and Iowa on a crash course with NCAAW juggernaut South Carolina.

With Clark bringing in a record-breaking number of viewers to the NCAAW tournament, this is huge for women’s basketball.

But it is starting to feel like the fix is in with refs seemingly interested in helping elevate Clark and put her back in the title game.

On the other hand, Clark has beaten some of the most dominant teams in the NCAAW, including the reigning national champions on this run. If Iowa can put away the game against South Carolina, this is a well-deserved title for Clark.

Meanwhile, the UConn men’s team kicked the Tide in the Roll and secured a spot in the national championship.

Alabama had no defense, and it hurt, with the victory giving UConn the chance to repeat as champions, something which hasn’t been done since Florida in ’06 and ’07. UConn will face Purdue, which finally killed the title hopes of a No. 11 North Carolina State team that really put something special into this tournament.

After finishing the ACC season with a losing record, UConn put together nine straight wins to make their first Final Four since the Reagan Administration, and that’s an amazing feat for this team. Hopefully they can build on that, and make it here again sometime soon.

Purdue is clamoring to get the monkey off their back and win one, something their in-state rival Indiana has been holding over their head for years. This is Purdue’s best shot in years, and it may give the program much needed hardware to add to a trophy case that is unfortunately bare.

Finally, with the entirety of college basketball season wrapping up, it seems the NBA draft class from 2024 is one of the best in years, drawing favorable comparisons to most draft classes in the last two decades. Based on the incredible play in the college game, I’m not entirely surprised, but I’m hoping a few players from an incredible March will get a shot in the draft.

  1. Most of this article was fine but…I’d like to know who is providing favorable comparisons for the 2024 NBA Draft?

This is widely considered the worst draft class in many years, perhaps decades.
