Buggy Sweepstakes final race results

After a rainy Friday canceled the first day of Buggy rolls, Raceday 2024 started and finished on Saturday, April 13.

For the men’s division, CIA A took the top spot with a time of 2:07.53, which places them at 40th-fastest for the men’s division of all time. Second place went to SDC A, who finished with a time of 2:09.71. PiKA A took third with a time of 2:09.86, CIA B took fourth with a time of 2:13.14, SigEp A took fifth with a time of 2:14.88 on their reroll, and CIA C took sixth with a time of 2:19.18. SDC B finished with a time of 2:14.84, but was disqualified due to failing drops.

In the women’s division, CIA A took first place with a time of 2:30.96, putting them at 17th-fastest of all time for the women’s division. SDC A placed second with a time of 2:32.43, putting them at 25th-fastest of all-time. CIA B took third with a time of 2:39.49, SDC B placed fourth with a time of 2:40.95, SPIRIT A took fifth with a time of 2:41.72, and DG A took sixth with a time of 2:49.27. PiKA A finished with a time of 2:41.09, but was disqualified after failing a break test.

This is the second year that there have been all-gender teams for Buggy, and SDC A took the top spot with a time of 2:36.27, earning the record for fastest all-gender Buggy team. CIA A took second with a time of 2:54.65, SAE A took third at 2:56.08, SPIRIT A took fourth with a time of 3:08.57, and FRINGE A took fifth with a time of 3:17.41. PiKA A and Apex A were both disqualified.

This year, Lust from Student Dormitory Council (SDC) won the Design award. CIA’s Goldfinch won second and Robobuggy’s Short Circuit won third.

Spirit’s Seraph won the People’s Choice award.

SDC claimed the Tom Wood Spirit of Buggy award while Delta Gamma (DG) claimed the Anne Witchner Chairman’s Choice award.

Fringe won the T-Shirt design competition. SDC’s Matthew Garcia earned the Chair of the Year award. PiKA A’s Ryan Nagle earned the title of King of the Hill, SDC B’s Erin Magid took home the title of Queen of the Hill, and PiKA’s Brendan Clark earned the title of Monarch of the Hill.
