Why are you running for Undergraduate Student Senate?
As a current member of the Undergraduate Student Senate, I’ve had the amazing privilege of being able to work with other members to communicate the needs of the student body and pass policy (or work on making it easier to pass initiatives in the future). Undergraduate Student Senate has given me the opportunity to do what I love: advocate, learn, and break glass ceilings. I love this school and I’m passionate about doing what I can to make the experience, both academic and not, as worthwhile as possible.
To you, what is the purpose of the Undergraduate Student Senate?
To me, the purpose of the Undergraduate Student Senate is to advocate for the undergraduate student body and implementing tangible change. Even though the work is slow sometimes, it is important to communicate with university leadership on behalf of the student body and make our voices heard. The purpose of the Undergraduate Student Senate is to serve as a bridge between the students and university leadership.
Why do you consider yourself qualified to serve on the Undergraduate Student Senate?
I consider myself to be hard working, diligent, compassionate, and driven–all things I believe are necessary to be an effective Senator!
