Criminal mischief
A Carnegie Mellon staff member reported damage to her vehicle parked in the GATF lot. CMUPD is to investigate.
A non-affiliate reported damage to the vending machine located inside Stever House. CMUPD is to investigate.
A Carnegie Mellon staff member reported damage to a card reader at Fifth and Clyde Apartments. Facilities Management Services is to repair it. CMUPD is investigating.
Theft
A Carnegie Mellon student reported a theft of his AirPods from a Tepper classroom. CMUPD is to investigate.
Retail Theft
Redhawk Roasters in Scaife Hall reported a retail theft. CMUPD is investigating.
Vehicle accident
An accident was reported in Morewood Gardens parking lot. There was minor damage and no injuries. Both drivers exchanged information and were advised to contact their insurance companies.
Request for assistance from University Police
A Carnegie Mellon affiliate reported a suspicious non-threatening letter received at the student involvement center. The letter was turned over to CMUPD.
Assist outside agency
CMUPD assisted the City of Pittsburgh for reports of a man with a gun near a Carnegie Mellon off campus facility. The area was checked and nothing was found. The area was checked by the City of Pittsburgh Police and cleared. Nothing was found.
Fire alarms
A fire alarm was reported at Purnell center with reports of smoke. Students were using a smoke generator and set off the alarm. Pittsburgh Fire responded and authorized the reset.
Student affairs was notified.
A fire alarm was reported at Scobel House. CMUPD on scene reported smoke in the basement kitchen. The smoke originated from burned food. No students were on scene. Pittsburgh Fire remained on scene for smoke evacuation. Student affairs was notified.
