Why are you running for Undergraduate Student Senate?
I’ve been serving on the Undergraduate Senate for 3 years now and I’ve had the opportunity to create and enact policy, establish new initiatives for CMU students, and improve upon my own leadership, teamwork, and communication skills. I want to continue this into my 4th year at CMU and hence why I am running to be in Undergraduate Senate again.
To you, what is the purpose of the Undergraduate Student Senate?
The purpose of the Undergraduate Student Senate is to represent the concerns and needs of undergraduate students at CMU. We work to advocate for students in all domains, including housing/dining, academic space, and campus life, and enact policy and create initiatives to do so.
Why do you consider yourself qualified to serve on the Undergraduate Student Senate?
As stated before, I have been in the Undergraduate Student Senate for 3 years and have also been a committee chair for 2 years (Operations and Business Affairs committee). I have also served on the Committee for Student Organizations, University Center Allocations Board, and the Executive Council. I believe that all of these experiences have allowed me to serve and represent CMU students well and I hope to continue this into my 4th year.
