Why are you running for Undergraduate Student Senate?
I want to increase the connection between senators and the students they are supposed to represent, and I think that being a part of senate and sharing this goal with other senators will allow me to achieve that. I believe that, currently, there’s a lot of confusion around what senate actually does, and I believe that increasing this sense of connection can resolve that issue.
To you, what is the purpose of the Undergraduate Student Senate?
I think senate’s purpose is to represent the interests of CMU students and bring positive change for the undergraduate community by collaborating with university administration, members of government, and students themselves.
Why do you consider yourself qualified to serve on the Undergraduate Student Senate?
I served on senate this past year, and I’ve learned a lot about how it functions. I also have experience with many other student organizations like AB Tech, Engineers Without Borders, and The Tartan. I think I have good connections to many parts of the university and can represent students’ interests well.
